REFLECTION ON MY INDIVIDUAL SIMULATED TEACHING

Hi….today..I want to comment on my own individual simulated teaching..first of all, I don’t know why, I already do a simulated teaching few times before, but still I will get nervous and lost my word in front of the class…maybe not enough practicing I guess..ok back to my comment, I already prepared two set induction for my teaching first show a picture and second a cartoon video clip, but lastly, I go with my second choice which is showing my student a cartoon video clip that will related to my theme that I want to teach, blindness. Actually I was quite excited about the clip and when I show to my students, firstly they think that it was cute but then until half of the clip they start to scream because the cartoon was too how to say…scary…I guess.. It is because the cartoon show about one of the cartoon character lost his eyes because his not very careful in what his doing. What I want they to learn to take a very good care about their eyes because once you lost it, you will never get to replace it. But at the end of my teaching, my subject tutor comments that the clip was too violent and not suitable to show to my student.hmm..maybe I should go with my first choice, showing them a picture..to my friends that act to be my students that day..sorry you guys..but at least some of u enjoy the clip isn’t it?...

Firstly, I also agree with Faz because I also experience the same thing. Even though i already done the simulated teaching before this, I still cannot present it perfectly. I still got hesitation, stammered and my eye contact is so bad. I don't know why? when I evaluate my friends, I know my weaknesses but when the time come for me to present, I still do the same thing. Faz also said that she need enough of practising to make her simulated teaching become good and run smoothly, but for me it still not enough because many times that I have been practising but still my presentation is worse, maybe I am not use of doing teaching in front of all my friends and thats why I experience a lot of problems when I do my simulated teaching, same things goes with the microteaching. In the other hand, yes when we do simulated teaching, first that will shows our credibility is through the set induction. Set induction is most important because it will give the idea of what will we want to teach to the class, a appropriate, suitable and relevant set induction will makes your lesson runs smoothly and also will not lose your student's attention when you do the teaching.
